Credits form the basis of the TaylorBowl economy. They are the most accessible and commonly used currency and the majority of actions related to currency involve credits. You may use the command
!creds to check the number of credits you have. The easiest way to obtain credits is through
voting in
TaylorBowls. Each vote awards 13 credits, and voting in consecutive Bowls will award more credits per vote. Many minigames can also award credits, but some are equally or more likely to cause losses.
Credits are widely used, with some notable functions being transferring to other users,
Forcing & Queueing TaylorBowls,
Bribing in TaylorBowls, using
Autovote, creating
Ephemera, increasing your
Ephemera Level, or used in
The Dojo.
Credits are taxed to encourage users to actively spend them. There are three taxes: Wealth Tax, Inactivity Decay, and Transfer Tax. Wealth Tax applies to users with over 10 000 credits and increases its percentage value with the number of credits. Inactivity Decay applies to inactive users, which refers to users either no longer in any TaylorBowl-enabled servers, or who have not voted in a TaylorBowl during the current season. Both the aforementioned taxes apply every 25 Bowls by default. Transfer Tax applies when credits are transferred between users, which taxes at most 2.5% of the transferred amount.
There are many ways to earn credits. The easiest method is
voting in
TaylorBowls. You can also play minigames to earn credits, though most also have a chance to lose credits.
Voting
When you
vote in a
TaylorBowl, you gain 13 credits. This number is increased by your
Streak. When your Streak reaches a multiple of 6, you will get 13 more credits for every subsequent vote. This resets when your Streak ends. If you are a
Server Booster,
Kintsugi, or both, you receive extra credits from voting. Server Boosters receive 1.25x of the standard, rounded up. Kintsugi receive 2x. Both of these can stack, leading to a 2.5x multiplier.
You can see the number of credits you will receive from voting in a bowl by using the command
!streak. It will display all your streak-related information.
You can also use the
EsteBot commands
/streakcurrent to calculate the number of credits obtained from your next vote at a given streak;
/streaknext to see the next streak where your credits obtained from voting increase; and
/streakcumulative to determine the total credits earned when you streak from a certain number to another.
Minigames
There are 7 minigames that can give you credits, 6 of which involve a risk.
Farm is a farm simulator minigame that allows you to plant credits and wait for them to grow. Every second, there is a chance for a Bloom to occur, rewarding you with credits. There is also a much smaller chance for The Blight to occur, which destroys most or all your credits.
The Commons is a variation of the Farm minigame, where credits are collectively planted. When a Bloom occurs, all credits in The Commons are equally distributed among all users who planted at least 1 credit. If a
Bot Restart occurs, all credits in the Commons are lost.
Ballpit is a minigame involving probability. 100 balls of different colours are randomly arranged, and users place bets on which balls will appear first in the sequence. If the bet is correct, the user is awarded credits. The higher they bet, and the rarer the combination of balls, the more credits are awarded. If the bet is wrong, the credits they bet are lost.
Risk is a die-based minigame where a 20-sided die is rolled. If the number rolled is between 2 and 20, the user receives that number of credits. If the number rolled is 1, the user loses 209 credits. The user can also multiply all returns and losses by specifying a multiplier.
Anti-Risk is another die-based minigame where a 20-sided die is rolled. If the number rolled is between 1 and 19, the user loses that number of credits. If the number rolled is 20, the user receives 190 credits. The user can also multiply all returns and losses by specifying a multiplier.
Yahtzee is a dice-based minigame. Five 6-sided dice are rolled, and each roll costs 10 credits. Certain combinations of numbers on the dice will award credits. Otherwise, none are awarded. Every Bot Cycle, all users get some free Yahtzee rolls that do not cost credits.
LyricRace is a race-style minigame. No credits are required to play. A set of 13 prompts related to Taylor Swift's songs and albums are given, and the user is asked to answer correctly as fast as possible. Depending on how long the user took to answer all 13 questions, they will receive credits at the end of the race.
These minigames make it possible for a user to obtain negative credits. For example, starting with 100 credits, a user could play Ballpit with all 100 of them. Since Ballpit only deducts credits after a Ballpit is completed, the user may lose 50 credits to Risk in the meantime. If their Ballpit bet was wrong, they lose 100 credits and end up with -50. While a user has negative credits, they are unable to do anything that requires credits, and any new credits will go towards removing their negative credits.
Potentia
Potentia are a currency that is bought using real money. Each Potentia can be converted directly into credits, worth 0.05% of all Active Credits or the cost of a Tier 2 TaylorBowl, whichever is greater.
Credits are widely used to perform certain actions and commands in TaylorBowl.
Forcing Bowls
To force or queue a TaylorBowl at a specific
Tier, length, or with a specific
track, credits must be used. Tiers further from Tier 6 cost more to force or queue; durations further from 11 minutes for most Tiers and 22 minutes for Tier 0 cost more to force or queue; and forcing a specific matchup multiplies the cost by the number of matchups in that Tier.
Bribing
If a TaylorBowl enters Tiebreaker, credits are used to influence the final result of the bowl. The more credits used to bribe for a given song, the more likely it is to win.
Autovote
Autovote uses credits to vote for a user automatically. The more consecutive Bowls a user uses Autovote for, the greater the cost of each Autovote.
User Score
Spent Credits count towards a user's score. Each Spent Credit is worth 1 User Score up to a maximum of 100% of their Base Score. Spent Credits above this threshold are converted into Surplus Spent Credits, which are worth less.
Transfers
Credits can be transferred from one user to another. At least 250 credits must be transferred, and a tax is incurred when doing so. This is done using the commands !transfer amount @user or !send amount @user. The amount parameter in !transfer command refers to the number of credits deducted from the sender, so the number of credits received by the target will be lesser. Contrarily, in the !send command, it refers to the number of credits received by the target, so the number of creidts deducted from the sender will be greater.
Ephemera
Credits can be used to create
Ephemera or gain
Ephemera Levels. The command
!condense can be used to turn credits into Ephemera. The command
!exceed can be used to increase your Ephemera Level.
The Dojo
The Dojo is a collectible card trading minigame using Taylor Swift songs to fight with. To Discover a new song, which adds it to the user's collection, known as their Chapter, the command !discover can be used. The cost to discover is 25 credits. To expand your Vault, which provides more space for users to hold songs, the command !expand can be used, up to a maximum of 10 times. The first usage starts at 250 credits, and each subsequent usage costs 250 credits more than the previous, up to a maximum of 2000.
Credits are subject to three taxes. Generally, they aim to encourage usage of credits and being active.
Wealth Tax
Wealth Tax is applied to all users with 10 000 credits and above. By default, it is applied every 25
TaylorBowls, removing a certain percentage of users total credits, or their on-hand and planted credits added together. The percentage taxed increases linearly based on the number of credits you have, by 0.5% every 100 000 credits, and reaching a maximum of 50%. This means the amount taxed increases quadratically, that is, if your credits increases by \(n\) times, your Wealth Tax increases by \(n^{2}\) times.
You may use the command
!owed to see the number of credits you owe due to wealth tax, and the command
!taxes to see the total number of credits the server owes due to wealth tax, the last taxation, and the next taxation.
Transfer Tax
Transfer Tax is applied when credits are transferred from one user to another. It is given by the formula:
Simply put, as you transfer more credits, the Transfer Tax decreases until a minimum of 2.5%.
You may use the command
!transfercost to determine how many credits will be taxed for a transfer of a given size.
Inactivity Decay
Inactivity Decay is applied to inactive users, which refers to users who are either no longer in any TaylorBowl-enabled servers, or who have not voted in a TaylorBowl during the current season. Like Wealth Tax, it is applied every 25 bowls. The tax is 0.25% of a user's total credits or 1 credit, whichever is greater.
Many prices in the server increase and decrease based on the total number of Active Credits in the server, which refers to credits belonging to active users.
Base Price
The Base Price determines the cost of forcing a Tier 6 Duration 11 Bowl, and thus the cost of all other Bowls. One of its components is 0.0005% of Active Credits.
Condensing
The number of credits used to create
Ephemera from credits by condensing is based on both the condensor's credits and active credits. The amount needed either 0.06% of Active Credits, 1.5% of the condensor's total credits, or 1989 credits, whichever is greatest.
You may use the command
!ephemera to check how much it would cost for you to condense.
Exceeding
The number of credits used to increase a user's Ephemera Level using the command !exceed is determined by Active Credits. The cost to exceed is 0.2% of Active Credits multiplied by the resultant Ephemera Level.
You may use the command !ephemeralevel to check how much your next exceed would cost.
There are 2
Invocations that affect credits.
Decompress
Decompress is used to convert Ephemera into
credits. The command
!decompress consumes 1
Ephemera to convert 1 other Ephemera into a percentage of its equivalent value in credits. This requires the invoker have at least 2 Ephemera on hand. At
Ephemera Level 0, the percentage is 15%, and it increases by 3% additively for every additional Ephemera Level. The equivalent value is determined by the base price for the invoker to
condense. This ignores the increase in condense price due to condensing multiple times in a given Bowl. Using this Invocation successfully has a 1% chance to decrease the invoker's Ephemera Level by 1.
The cost to condense is given by the formula:
The number of credits returned from Decompress is given by the formula:
Decompress will misfire if the invoker only has 1 Ephemera on hand.
Collect
Collect is used to collect
taxes. The command
!collect consumes 12 Ephemera to collect one round of
Wealth Tax and
Inactivity Decay. The invoker will also be subject to taxes if applicable. This is in addition to the regular taxation every 25
Bowls, and will not negate them.
Decimate
Decimate is used to destroy 10% of all
credits. The command
!decimate consumes 32 Ephemera to destroy 10% of all on-hand and planted credits of all users, including the invoker.
